Jaqui believes that creation and expression can have many forms as long as the initial vision is there. Since 1996, she has painted professionally, showing her work throughout the United States and Europe, with a permanent public display at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia.

To begin her career, Jaqui spent three months painting on the island of St. Michael, Azores, where she was featured on the cover of Açores Noticias as a visiting artist. Jaqui continued to travel and expand her repertoire of subjects and media, living in south Florida and New England. She established a studio in Virginia Beach in 2001 and has been involved with the Tidewater art scene over the past few decades. In 2019, Jaqui took over Beach Gallery at the Oceanfront and considers herself lucky to be able to support local artists.
